“You have to dominate,” the President told state leaders. “If you don’t dominate, you’re wasting your time — they’re going to run over you, you’re going to look like a bunch of jerks.”
This comes a day after the White House turned off its own lights while protesters demonstrated outside and three days after Mr. Trump stayed in the bunker of the White House as protests expanded in Washington, DC.
“You have to arrest people, and you have to try people, and they have to go jail for long periods of time,” the President told governors.
The protests over the last week were sparked by the death of George Floyd, who died while a police officer knelt on his neck. Mr. Floyd repeatedly told the officer he couldn't breath.
