The vote happened in person, after GOP Congressman Thomas Massie of Kentucky forced the House to do so after he raised objections to the bill. His decent was overwhelmingly rejected and the bill was able to pass swiftly thereafter.
This stimulus bill is the largest in history and is seen more as a lifeline to Americans and businesses and less of an economic "boost." Americans who earned less than $75,000 two years ago will be receiving $1,200 checks, with married couples and those with children will potentially receive more.
Those earning approximately $100,000 will receive nothing, while those earning in between $75,000 and $100,000 will get some money, but in diminishing amounts relative to their income.
