Buttigieg Takes Lead in Iowa, According to Monmouth

Mayor Pete Buttigieg has taken the lead in polling in the critical state of Iowa, according to Monmouth.

Buttigieg, who has been showing momentum for several weeks, has also had strong showings in Iowa polling.

This Monmouth poll is the first to have him in the lead, however.

According to the poll, Buttigieg has the support of 22% of Iowans.  Former Vice President Joe Biden is in second with 19%.

Trailing closely in third is Senator Elizabeth Warren with 18%, with Bernie Sanders in fourth with 13%.
