US Budget Deficit was Over $980 Billion in 2019

The budget deficit of the United States was nearly one trillion dollars in 2019, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

This number is the highest since 2012 and nears the nation’s largest deficit ever.

It is extremely unusual for a deficit to grow drastically during an economic expansion. The announcement also comes at a time when manufacturing in the US is in a recession and hiring is noticeably slowing.
