In another stunning admission from the President, this morning on Twitter Mr. Trump seemed to acknowledge that he was indeed withholding funding from Ukraine, but that it was okay to do so because Ukraine “didn’t know.”
Regardless of whether Ukraine knew Trump was holding up aid for political purposes, this would still have been illegal. And at least one witness with knowledge of the situation stated that, in fact, Ukraine did know that they would not receive funding until the announced an investigation into the Bidens.
However, the President argued today that all of this was legal.
The President wrote, quoting Fox and Friends, “Neither he (Taylor) or any other witness has provided testimony that the Ukrainians were aware that military aid was being withheld. You can’t have a quid pro quo with no quo.”
This is false.
Mr. Trump then added, “ Where is the Whistleblower? The Do Nothing Dems case is DEAD!”
